Bulk Vaccines and Toxoids

SSI's bulk assortment comprises

• Diphtheria Toxoid
• Tetanus Toxoid
• Acellular Pertussis Toxoid
• Inactivated Poliomyelitis Virus

Usage

SSI's bulk assortment can be used as antigens in booster or primary vaccines.

The Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids can also be used as carrier proteins in conjugate vaccines and for non-clinical/in vitro use, e.g.:

• Lymphocyte stimulation tests (proliferation tests)
• Induction and measurement of cytokine synthesis
• Studies of antigen induced migration of monocytes/macrophages and other phagocysting cells
• ELISA
• Immunisation of test animals

Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids

• Diphtheria Toxoid is bases on purified Diphtheria Toxin detoxified by treatment with formaldehyde
• Diphtheria Toxoid is supplied with a toxoid concentration of 1,800 - 3,000 Lf/ml corresponding to a specific protein concentration of 4.5 - 7.5 mg/ml
• Tetanus Toxoid is based on purified Tetanus Toxin detoxified by treatment with formaldehyde
• Tetanus Toxoid is supplied with a toxoid concentration of 700 -  1,200 Lf/ml corresponding to a specific protein concentration of 1,75 - 3,00 mg/ml
• The products can be regarded as close to 100% pure
• The buffer is saline
• The concentration of formaldehyde is < 54 mg/ml
• The products have 5 years stability from filling date
• The products are manufactured according to cGMP
• The products are also supplied in 10 ml capped vials for technical use only (not for human/in vivo purposes). Stability is 2 years from filling date

Acellular Pertussis Toxoid

• Acellular Pertussis Toxoid is based on purified Pertussis Toxin detoxified by treatment with hydrogen peroxide
• aP Toxoid is supplied with a toxoid concentration of 150 ug/ml adjuvated to aluminium hydroxide
• The products can be regarded as close to 100% pure
• The buffer is PBS
• The products have 2 years stability from filling date
• The products are manufactured according to cGMP

Inactivated Poliomyelitis Virus

• Inactivated Poliomyelitis Virus is supplied as a concentrated bulk with approximately 10 doses of poliovirus type 1, 2 and 3 per ml
• The viruses are propagated in Vero cells from a WHO cell bank
• The manufacturing process is free from serum, trypsin, antibiotics and any biological substance of human origin
• The purity of the product is close to 100%
• The product is manufactured according to cGMP
• Shelf life is 18 months
