As an employee at Statens Serum Institut (SSI) you will be part of a traditional organisation which, since established in 1902, has been working on securing the preparedness towards infectious diseases and congenital disorders.

…we are like a “green village”
When entering the main gate at 5 Artillerivej, the area resembles a small village in the middle of Copenhagen. A number of different buildings witness the development of SSI through our 100-year history. From the beginning in 1902, where SSI merely consisted of a couple of buildings, until today, where the old military barracks on Artillerivej is being used on a daily basis and new buildings are emerging. On a daily basis, our gardeners are working on the big and composite area for it to remain an airy and green area.
…we are like a small community
We are approximately 1,300 employees at SSI. With our broad range of assignments within, for instance, research and production as well as a number of different service functions such as finance, IT and craftsmanship, SSI resembles a small community. More than 20 different trade groups are employed at SSI.
We consider it a resource that SSI is a company with room for diversity. We are therefore comitted to utilising the diversity in our staff and seeing the advantages by the different resources our employees possess.
...we take care of each other and celebrate the everyday triumphs
By focusing on job satisfaction through the small actions we do every day, the purpose is to bring down the number of employees who are absent due to illness, feeling stressed or have lost their job satisfaction.
As part of promoting job satisfaction we focus on celebrating the small everyday triumphs - this being the publication of an article, a new analysis that is succesfully running, or that your team has finally gotten to the bottom of the work piles.
…we are an active work place
When working at SSI, you have plenty of opportunities to engage yourself in other things than your work. SSI’s sports club, IK-Sera, offers many different activities, for instance football, volleyball, badminton, aerobics, billiards and darts. At SSI we have at our disposal our own tennis court, gymnasium and exercise room.
For the less sports-interested employees we have a friday bar and different events arranged by our staff club where you can socialise with your colleagues and other SSI employees.
