Focus on product oriented research
At the Department for Infectious Disease Immunology our research has a clear goal of developing new vaccines and encompasses research in immunology, molecular biology and protein chemistry. Research is performed in an internationally acclaimed and highly professional environment, with a broad range of different specialists involved.

Research is an integral part of the strategy
Because research is an integral part of the strategy at SSI, there exist excellent opportunities for developing one’s research qualifications, for instance by completing a PhD study during one’s employment at SSI. What is more, the institute strongly encourages publishing the research in peer reviewed international journals.

As a master or PhD student at SSI, you are involved in the very core of the research projects

You are involved in the very core of the research projects
As a Master or PhD student at SSI, you get to go straight to the heart of the research projects. My experience of being a PhD student at SSI is that the PhD studies are so closely tied to the department’s work that you absolutely feel like you are part of the team in the department. In connection with Master and PhD projects, SSI works closely with universities in both Denmark and abroad. Moreover, SSI participates actively in international consortiums, for instance in the EU, where research collaboration is strengthened between SSI, universities and private companies.
