The Barracks on Artillerivej
A small part of Statens Serum Institut (SSI) is located on what used to be an old military barracks. The Barracks on Artillerivej contained barracks and a weapons arsenal and were build from 1887-1888. From 1952 and until the barracks were closed down, the army’s education for weapons mechanics were located at this site. SSI took over the grounds in 1973. Several buildings have been torn down since then, but the remaining buildings are maintained and used on a daily basis.
