Key figures

Research and development at a high international level are important for ensuring effective prevention and control of infectious diseases and for further developing the Institute’s business activities.

SSI is one of Denmark's largest research institutions in health.
 
Among the most important key figures are:

  • SSI uses each year around 20% of sales on R & D, equivalent to approx. 250 million. DKK
  • Approximately 100 million DKK comes from Danish and international funds
  • SSI publishes annually more than 300 articles with an average high impact-factor of 4.4
  • A total of 385 people at SSI are engaged in research
  • SSI contributes each year with over 30 master students, 10-15 PhDs

In 2009 SSI used 18% of sales on R & D. More than DKK 100 million from Danish and international funds.

Publications and Training

SSI published 326 articles in 2009. SSI is an integral part of the Danish educational system, and in 2009 over 50 master theses were submitted, Ph.D. theses and two doctoral theses.
