Key figures

Research and development at a high international level are important for ensuring effective prevention and control of infectious diseases and for further developing the Institute’s business activities.

SSI is one of Denmark's largest research institutions in health.

Among the most important key figures are:

  • SSI uses each year around 20% of sales on R & D, equivalent to more than 350 million. DKK
  • In 2016 more than 159 million DKK came from Danish and international funds
  • SSI publishes annually more than 400 articles
  • SSI contributes each year with a large number of master and PhD students
