Business Development and Licensing Manager to Statens Serum Institut

Statens Serum Institut (SSI) is recruiting a Business Development and Licensing Manager to support the increasing demand of expanding SSI’s externalization activities.  
Statens Serum Institut has a long heritage of serving the Danish and the World health through researching and developing vaccines and diagnostics. The SSI project portfolio is represented by +20 partnering ready opportunities from discovery to phase III within the areas of tuberculosis, malaria, influenza, oncology and sexually transmitted diseases. A new corporate Business Development function has been established to secure collaboration and commercialization of the innovation portfolio and to maintain existing partnership.  
The position  
As part of our new Business Development team, you will take an active role in shaping the function’s externalization efforts and establishing supporting infrastructure. In close collaboration with scientists and Business Development colleagues, you will be responsible for evaluating business potential of licensing opportunities, identifying potential partners, promoting opportunities to the international partnering environment, conducting due diligences, negotiating contracts and maintaining contractual obligations.  
Candidate profile  
The ideal candidate for the position will feature the following profile:  
• Graduate degree on Master or PhD level.  
• Experience with contract negotiations.  
• Good project management and/or alliance management skills.  
• Understanding of commercial aspects and ability to develop business cases.  
• Knowledgeable of the Life Science industry.  
• Analytic and structured, ability to manage matters of multiple complexity.  
• Positive, resilient and with a strong self-drive.

Terms of employment  
The employment is covered by the terms of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organization of Academics. Base salary will be determined based on seniority and with a supplement depending on experience and qualifications. Pension represents 17.1% of the salary.
