SSI Laboratory appointed as WHO Supranational TB Reference Laboratory

The International Reference Laboratory of Mycobacteriology, under SSI’s Sector for Microbiology and Diagnostics, has been appointed as a Supranational TB Reference Laboratory by the World Health Organisation.
The laboratory will cooperate internationally with national TB reference laboratories towards improving TB diagnosis. Particular focus will be on improving the quality of TB diagnosis and resistance surveillance. There are 32 Supranational laboratories worldwide.
